Add 7 more to the list! This brings my Flash Collection total up to 99 different ones and 8 to trade. A quite small collection since the discovery of a collector in Minnesota that has over 500! I would like to ask for your help. I’m looking for more of these little guys. If you have any for sale, trade, or just want to brag about how many you have, please drop me a line. I’d love to hear about it! Syrocokid@gmail.com

Today was a relaxing day spent cruising the malls in Northern Illinois. There were a few corkscrews, but hardly worth the sticker price. On the brighter side…..these two girls are on their way to Chicago. Let’s see now that would fill numbers 2 and 3 of my Best 6 for 2008. Nothing is set in stone though. Feel free to spam me with trade offers!

Though it’s nothing to brag about….I did pick up 3 Italian double levers in original boxes the other day. They arrived yesterday. I’m sure someone would be interested in buying " Rare Vintage Italian Chrome Double Lever Corkscrew Marked and in Original Packaging!!! " BIN $25.00 I hope the mailman will have more exciting deliveries today. Any of the other 5 packages in route would be a welcomed surprise. Maybe one of them will be a DICO from the Boston area?!

Well, I can say with out a doubt….."Only 5 more to go for ’08!" I received the Socony-Vacuum Old Codger in the mail today. It’s GREAT! It’s will be my first corkscrew of my 2008 Best 6. Thanks Josef! I also received some icing from Josef. As in "Icing on the cake" for the trade. I can truly say that I have not had these in my collection before. Anyone up for a trade?

On Wednesday, Josef was in town just for the day. We had a great time together! First things first. We came back to my place to work out a trade. It’s definitely one of my favorite parts of collecting. FYI the Syroco Horse Head opener does not weigh too much in serious negotiations. After about 15 revisions I will be the 3rd known collector with a Syroco Old Codger w/ a Socony-Vacuum Advertising Badge. I can’t hardly wait for this baby to arrive!

There has only been one Syroco Corkscrew ever discovered that I know of, that was in it’s original package. That was a Syroco German Shepherd Corkscrew about 7 months ago (congrats again Josef). Well I didn’t find a Syroco Corkscrew, but I did find a Bull Dog Clothing Brush in the original box. It’s very similar to what Josef got. The box is in excellent condition, but only marked "Pal – Police Dog Red". I guess the Syroco Company never really marked any packaging with their brand name.

I was thinking….I never posted my Best 6 of 2007 to the blog. So here it is! Some pieces may look familiar to some of you, and I’d like to say THANK YOU for making my year! I must admit these are my current pride and joys. Some have cost more than others, but all are priceless to me! Have a happy New Year!
